At Your Service

First, as a child, it seems like the entire world is there for you and you rush to drink from its every cup, sometimes wondering to yourself how anything could ever be more fun.
Then, as you grow older, if you're observant, you realize much of what you enjoy was made possible by the contributions, work, and labor of those who came before you, and you're taken aback, disappointed even , because with maturity you can now see cracks in the façades, imperfections in the details, and 10,000 ways it could have all been done better.
At which point, folks typically choose one of two paths: Spend a lifetime lamenting how far from perfect things are. Or, to one degree or another, roll up their sleeves and pitch in. And should they choose the latter with gusto, they will come to know, to the core of their sacred being, that the differences they might make in the world cannot be made by another. And then they will discover the answer to their often-wondered childhood question.... That the most fun one can have in time and space comes from making such a difference, and that the joy derived from serving is 10,000 times that of being served.

Oh no, this doesn't mean life becomes all work and no play. It just means work becomes play, no matter what you do, and play becomes ecstasy.

~ My Wishes ~

I’d like to go forward in time to see first hand futuristic cities soar into the skies, all crystalline and made of polished metal. Ideally, I’d like to be roused on a hammock on a tropical beach, where the sand is powder-white and the sea the deepest sapphire-blue, but almost immediately I’d have to dress, go out and attend a secret espionage meeting; If I thought about it, I really need a big case of cash. No questions asked, and sometimes I wish I was the best patisserie chef since Anton Careme invented caramel. I’d like to have a power to cast spells, binding and real spells, and it would be amazing to hang out on an island of my own in some far-off tropical sea, one never touched by human contact. Pets? I’d like to have a penguin, so brave and resourceful, and yet so funny at the same time. Finally, I’d like to throw a beach party where the limbo is optional, and maybe I’d invite an angel along, to bring a blessing on everyone there.

Courage ~ Josh Hinds ~ getmotivation.com

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway."
-- John Wayne
"Courage is the cliche hallmark attributed to the hero. I say cliche because people talk about courage as if it is some mysterious force only a hero is born with. Courage is a vague and fleeting concept for many people because they lack it themselves.
People lack courage because they lack knowledge. They have no idea where the true source of courage comes from. Even worse, they don't know it and continue to live in fear. As Socrates pointed out, 'People not only don't know, but they don't know that they don't know.'
This is why so many people on earth live in fear. Fear of death. Fear of life. Fear of living their nightmares. And fear of living their dreams. Most people are followers because they lack self-confidence and live in constant fear.
Anyone who is brave and can show them how to overcome fear, they follow and respect. But... anyone that reminds people of their own fear, they attack and abuse viciously! This is human nature in its lowest, animal form.
What is fear? Fear is the perception or misperception of the unknown. Perception of how we negatively view reality, but not reality itself. I once heard somewhere, a useful acronym for FEAR: False Evidence that Appears Real. The 'false evidence' being our own manufactured worries, doubts, and negative images often of events that haven't even taken place yet.
William Shakespeare understood this principal well when he said, 'Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.'
The cause of fear is lack of knowledge. Therefore, 'knowledge is the antidote to fear' according to the great American hero philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson. That is why heroes are brave souls. They immerse themselves with knowledge, plus knowledge, plus knowledge.
Heroes know that they don't know, but are willing to learn.
They are humble and learn from everyone regardless of rank or status. Leaders know their potential. Followers ignore their potential. Courage and self-confidence comes from knowledge and self-knowledge...
This being said, no human hero is entirely fearless. Great heroes are not born fearless and brave. Nelson Mandela had this to say about courage: 'I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it... I felt fear myself more times than I can remember, but I hid it behind a mask of boldness. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.'"

...::: Adapting To Life Changes :::...

While it's important to set goals -- because as the saying goes if you want to get somewhere you have to know where you're headed -- it is also essential to give yourself the wiggle room necessary to adapt to changes that occur in life.
Be focused and persistent on the path towards achieving the goals you set, but also be willing to take any necessary steps that might reveal themselves along the way.
Success in any endeavor is rarely achieved by following a straight line, but that's not all bad. Life's changes and challenges can help to keep things exciting, because it is through overcoming the challenges which pop up that we grow to the point where we can apply our acquired knowledge to any future endeavor.
To further illustrate my point consider what keynote speaker and business philosopher Jim Rohn has to say, "Set a goal to become a millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it." Think about that for a moment. When we develop the skills needed to achieve our goal, the rewards of the particular goal may come or go in our lifetime, however our ability to recreate the result is always there -- ready for us to tap into at will.
Simply put, learning to adapt to change as it finds its way into our life is an essential part in developing a mindset which is conducive to achieving any and all endeavors we pursue.

...::: dah 2007? :::...

~ Masih Kisah Tentang Kasih ~

7 Disember 2006
6:30 pagi - Head pounding
7:30 pagi - Drive to Terminal 1 (nak pergi keje)
7:35 pagi - Kensel niat pergi keje terus ke Medical Centre
8:00 pagi - Emergency room kat Medical Centre... arghhhhh severe migraine

10:00 pagi - Still atas katil dalam emergency room. Kepala dah kurang sakit.

Baru terasa lapar. Apa nak makan nih? Aku order teh panas dan roti bakar. Kedai makan belakang Medical Centre. Aku pandang jam. Hampir jam 11 pagi. Apa aku nak buat hari ini?

11:00 pagi - Jalan kaki ke shopping mall
11:30 pagi - Aku dah tercongok depan pintu Jusco S2.
Kepala masih sakit. Tapi tak sesakit tadi. Aku carik bench dan duduk. Betul-betul depan TGV. Blank. Nak tengok wayang ker? Aku pandang orang yang lalu-lalang. Budak jaga kaunter TGV tu dah sepuluh kali senyum kat aku.

Aku tengok ramai orang hari ini. Mungkin sebab cuti sekolah kot. Aku pandang screen kecik tempat diorang tunjuk show apa yang ada hari ni. arghhh citer CINTA. Dah setengah jam rupanya dia start. Hmmmm ada lagi pukul 1:30 ptg.

Sniff sniff.. bestnye baaaauuuuu. Oooooo bau popcorn.. musti best tengok wayang sambil kunyah popcorn kan? Sedar tak sedar aku dah bangun menuju ke kaunter tiket.

Aku pandang muka budak perempuan di kaunter tiket. Ringannye mulut berkata, CINTA jam 1:30 ptg, sorang.

Keluarkan buku and start reading. Orang makin ramai. Around 1:20 pm, aku bangun gi kaunter popcorn.

Patut la kawan-kawan aku beriya-iya menyuruh aku pergi. Patutlah kawan-kawan aku sanggup berulang kali masuk menonton cerita yang sama.

Cerita yang very simple. Dengan dialog harian yang kita guna. Tapi isi cerita CINTA itu sangat padat. Korang dah tonton?

...::: kisah tentang kasih :::...

Mungkin aku perlu, tapi atas alasan apa?
